On Feb. 25 the Ashland University women’s lacrosse knocked off the Gannon Golden Knights 13-7 for their 50th win in program history. The Eagles now move to 2-1 on the young season after the win.
Senior attacker Rachel Crumbacher found the back of the net four times for the Eagles moving herself to 149 career goals and counting which is now first on the all-time goals scored list. Three other Eagles were able to notch two goals in the contest to help catapult the Eagles to the victory.
For the Golden Knights freshman Isabella Veltre continues an impressive rookie campaign as she netted three goals in the loss and continues to lead the team in goals. Four other Golden Knight were able to find the back of the net despite the loss.
The Eagles jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after two goals from Crumbacher. The Golden Knights would then score the next three goals before the Eagles were able to respond with eight straight goals themselves to take the lead back and push forward to victory.
The Eagles now look ahead to Feb. 28 when they host the number two team in the country in the Indianapolis Greyhounds at Ferguson Field.
