On Feb. 21, the Ashbrook Classical Theatre Company put on the ‘Tragedy of Julius Caesar’ by William Shakespeare.
Ashbrook students, Ashland Alumni and faculty members came together to take part in the performance.
The performance will be held in three different locations: the Center for the Arts studio theater, the Ashland Theatre and the Hayesville Opera House.
Director of the play, Sabrina Maristela, said, “The show is free, and Shakespeare is really cool and traveling theater companies is a very Renaissance area type thing to do.”
The seniors in the Classical Theatre Company wanted to perform Julius Caesar, so Maristela worked to make it happen.
“My favorite part is just getting to bask in the glory of being Julius Caesar and get to walk around like I am the best it is really fun,” said Luke German, who played Julius Caesar in the show.
The theatre company has been working since last school year on the play so students and faculty could learn the Shakespearean lines.
Different roles are also changing depending on the show. Two Alumni came back for the chance to be Mark Antony in the play. Also, different faculty members can be seen playing a role during some nights as well.
The cast will next be the CFA Studio Theatre on March 27 and 28 at 7:00 p.m.
They will then make a quick stop at the Ashland Theatre, also at 7:00 p.m. All tickets are free of charge and the show does not require seat reservations.
