This Thursday, Oct. 4 at 11 a.m., FOX 8 News anchor and reporter Jessica Dill will be visiting AU for a presentation to be held in CFA 212.

Dill is currently a reporter and fill-in anchor for WJW FOX 8 News located in Cleveland.

She received her Bachelor of Journalism from Bowling Green State University and her Masters in Journalism from Northwestern University.

Throughout her career, Dill has worked as a backpack journalist in Chicago, a Capitol Hill correspondent for several news stations in Washington D.C., and done interviews with celebrities such as Lebron James and Amy Schumer.

Dill has won the Regional Hard News Edward R. Murrow award for her story titled “Criminals in the Classroom” and a few Associated Press awards for her reporting.

Kelly Meyer, a faculty member in AU’s Journalism and Digital Media Department, said this event is for anyone.

“Whether they are a senior, looking to apply for jobs or a freshman, curious about how to gain experience, all students are encouraged to attend,” Myer said. “I hope students are inspired and motivated from hearing Jessica Dill’s presentation.”

Meyer ensures this is an opportunity that shouldn’t be missed.

“She’s a fan favorite within the Northeast Ohio viewing area,” Myer said. “An opportunity to meet her doesn’t happen often.”
