When the United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches of America released its indoor track and field preseason rankings, the Ashland University men’s team is ranked third while the women’s team is ranked second in the nation.

The only team earning more points than AU are the Lakers from Grand Valley State. AU women have 162.79 points while the Lakers begin the season with 292.66 points.

The AU men’s team has 141.10 points. Saint Augustine’s (216.93) is ranked first and Lincoln (151.97) is second.

Last year, the women finished in a tie for second place at nationals while the men finished in seventh place.
