The Ashland University varsity Overwatch 2 team took on Edgewood College in a best of 5 to take the series.

The first map was Lijiang Tower and it started off with the game mode of control, a game mode in which each team has to control a certain point on the map for the longest period of time.

Edgewood College put up a good fight on Lijiang Tower, but it was no match for the Eagles. The eagles take map one, in classic Eagle fashion, having the scoreline of (Scoreline)

The next map was King’s Row in which the Eagles had a great start being 1-0 in the event. However, the game mode was an overwatch favorite called Payload.

The Eagles started strong going 3-0 in the map, and moments away from winning the game, the last thing they had to do was defend the payload from getting pushed.

Edgewood College answered back though, and it turned out to be a nail-biter in the last stretch of the game, going 3-3 in the game. This time the Eagles had to attack.

In the end Edgewood College pushed it to a win, and they went 4-3 winning the map.

“We had less practice for the composition, but we just need to be grouped together and improve on our mechanics.” Team Captain Cole “memes” Weber said going back on the loss.

The Eagles was still optimistic about the event since it was a tie game, the game went to map three, which was Survasa on flashpoint

The Eagles started rough with going 0-2 in the scoreline, and The Eagles had their backs against the wall.

The Eagles ended up fighting to the end going 3-2 winning the map. The next map was needed for the Eagles to win the event.

Map three was Esperanca, in which the game mode was “escort”, in which both teams had to push a robot to their respective sides like tug-o-war.

Edgewood fought hard, leading the Eagles to their doom as they went 2-2 on maps. The next map was everything.

The Eagles headed to the map “Route 66”, in which the game mode was payload again.

With the Eagle’s back against the wall again, the Eagles attacked with all their strength, and won the event 3-2.

“I can see us winning a whole lot more in the future.” Lestat Wade “maxdubsteped” said after the event was done.
