The graduation speaker for the Winter Commencement 2022 has yet to be decided.

According to AU President Dr. Carlos Campo, a potential speaker was Rebeccah Heinrichs.

Heinrichs graduated from the class of 2004 at Ashland University and was part of the Ashbrook Scholars Program while earning her BA in Political Science and History.

She later earned her MA in national security and strategic studies from the U.S. Naval War College, where she graduated with highest distinction and received the Director’s Award for academic excellence.

Currently, Heinrichs is a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute and the director of the institute’s Keystone Defense Initiative specializing in U.S. national policy defense.

She regularly provides analysis on major cable news and radio programs and publishes periodically in foremost political magazines and academic journals.

Heinrichs is a member of AU’s Board of Trustees and the Ashbrook Board of Advisors. She is currently enrolled at Missouri State University to pursue her doctorate of defense and strategic studies, and currently resides in Virginia with her husband and five children.

This is a developing story.
