After a long road trip down to Nashville, Tenn., the Ashland University STUNT saw their season come to a close after two hard-fought games.
The Eagles began the national tournament on Thursday, April 23, with a morning matchup against Trevecca Nazarene. The Eagles fell early in the season to the Trojans in Lexington, but their familiarity was not enough to beat them a second time.
Ashland lost their game against the Trojans 27-22, but despite the five-point deficit, the game felt closer throughout. The Eagles matched the Trojans point for point for most of the game, with the win in sight. Unfortunately, the higher-seeded Trojans had a late push that was just too much for the Eagles to match.

After the loss, Ashland was still alive in the bracket and were given a Friday afternoon matchup against Concordia Irvine, which became one of the most dramatic games of the tournament and college STUNT history.
The game against Concordia Irvine remained neck and neck, each team trading points, forcing an overtime. Even with the extra quarters, the winner was not decided quickly. It took two extra periods before Concordia Irvine narrowly beat Ashland, 34-33, in what became the highest-scoring game in college STUNT history.
The loss ends Ashland’s 2026 season with a 17-10 overall record. While the result wasn’t what the Eagles hoped for, they battled for every win over the entirety of the season.
