The Ashland University women’s lacrosse team add on to their road win streak with another decisive win on March 19.
Ashland traveled to Painesville, where they took on Lake Erie College, and controlled the game from the start. The Eagles carried their momentum from the dominating 21-0 win over Ursuline into this match, scoring 11 goals in the first quarter. They continued to build onto that while holding the storm scoreless. They entered halftime with a 17-0 lead.
Ashland continued to add goals during the second half, rallying up a final score of 23-0, making it their second shutout in a row.
Senior Ashley Fisher paced the Eagle offense with four goals and two assists. Ashland had balanced scoring throughout their entire roster, with five players recording at least two goals, five players finishing with two or more assists, and 17 players tallying at least one point.
Senior goalkeeper Annie Duncan did not receive much action down the field but did record one save to maintain the shutout.
With the win, Ashland extended its win streak to two games. The Eagles are scheduled to return to action Friday against Grand Valley State in Allendale, Michigan. The game begins at 5 p.m.
