The No. 6-ranked Ashland University STUNT team ended its Michigan road trip with a 1-2 record, moving to 10-4 overall and 6-1 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) standings.
The weekend began with a 26-4 loss to California Baptist, who is ranked no. 1 in Division l standings. Junior Emma Miller and sophomore Lilly Johnson each scored four points to aid the Eagles in that matchup.
Ashland came back to win the next game, with a 27-7 win over East Stroudsburg. Junior Makiah Francis led the Eagles with 45 individual points in the win as Ashland improved to 10-3 at the time.
The trip ended on Sunday with a 31-8 G-MAC loss against Davenport. Four Eagles recorded a team high 16 points. However, Ashland dropped to second place in the conference standings.
Despite the tough losses, Ashland has won 10 of its last 14 contests and continues to be in the national conversation heading into its spring break trip to Texas. The Eagles will face Texas Woman’s and Central Arkansas on March 6 for two more games.
