While the weather isn’t always on the same page, the Ashland Community is ready to embrace the warmer spring temperatures with an exciting month full of activities.
On Tuesday, March 3 Ohio Fire will be hosting trivia night from 6 to 8 p.m. All who plan to attend are encouraged by Ashland County Historical Society, the sponsor, to reserve a table before the event.
On Thursday, March 5, Ashland University will open a new exhibit to the public at the Coburn Art Gallery. From 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., members of the community are free to enjoy light refreshments while speaking with and viewing student-made artwork.
Leading into the weekend, the Ashland Kroc Center will hold its last Bounce-N-Play for the 2026 season on Friday, March 6.
From 5 to 7 p.m. non-members can pay $5 per child wanting to play in the bounce houses. Parents and guardians that plan to watch do not have to pay any fees.
On Saturday, March 7, Ashland Park Districts, Ashland Public Library and the Ashland Center for Non-Violence will team up with the Tom Kruse Conservation Park to host “Voices of the Land Reading and Activities.”
From 1 to 4 p.m. attendees will receive a free copy of Aldo Leopold’s “A Sand County Almanac”, while supplies last. There will be a short nature walk at the conclusion of story time.
The Freer Community Center will be hosting “Conservation Chat: Ground Rules” on Wednesday, March 11 from 5 to 8 p.m. The conversation will deal with the topic of agriculture, specifically about soil.
Due to St. Patrick’s Day being on Tuesday March 17, almost all St. Patrick’s Day festivities will be held on Saturday March 14.
Starting off the day, the Ashland County Fairgrounds will host a flea market and craft show.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., people of the community may browse through the various booths free of charge.
At 10 a.m., the Kroc Center will kick off their annual spring craft show. Attendees will be able to talk with multiple local artists as they look through the different products for sale until 2 p.m.
Starting at 10:30 a.m. on Ashland Main Street, there will be a pop-up event. Those planning to watch and/or take part in the walking parade will be able to window shop as they stroll down Main Street.
Speaking of the parade at 11 a.m., the Ashland Kilt Brigade will kick off the annual St. Patricks’ Walking Parade. All are welcome to dress green and follow the brigade down Main Street to Union Street. Shortly following the parade, Mayor Matt Miller and a few others will dye the city’s creek green.
As the sun starts to set, the Ashland Church of Nazarene will be hosting “Meals and Melodies” in its fellowship hall at 5:30 p.m.
For $20 a ticket, attendees can expect a warm meal as they are entertained by four different musical artists.
To conclude the evening, the Ashland Theater will have a tribute to Jonny Cash. Tickets will range from $20-$30 each, and the event will last from 7 to 10 p.m.

On St. Patrick’s Day, the City of Ashland will dye the city creek green to commemorate the holiday.
On the following Saturday, March 21, Mapleton High School will host its spring craft show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is no paid admission but encouragement to support the vendors on sight.
Later that evening in the Archer Auditorium, found at Ashland High School, for the price of up to $27 attendees may enjoy “In Flight Entertainment.” This musical themed evening is for all ages.
On Friday, March 27 from 5 to 7 p.m., the Ashland Kroc Center will be hosting a “Family Fun Night” with a theme on roller skating. Tickets will cost $7 for all non-members and will be free for members.
Also, from 5 to 7 p.m., Ashland Main Street will be hosting its monthly Final Friday event. Different businesses will have unique offers exclusive to that evening.

As the weekend progresses, Ashland Middle School will host its “Chocolate and More” annual event. From 1 to 4 p.m. attendees can enjoy all different kinds of chocolate for tickets priced between $10 to $50.
That afternoon the high school will host its “Paddington Bear’s First Concert”.
Starting at 2 p.m., attendees can take part in the instrument petting zoo. At 3 p.m., the concert will start. This event is free for all, but donations are highly appreciated.
To conclude the month, the annual Ashland County Easter Egg Hunt will occur at the Ashland Community Soccer Park. At exactly 2 p.m., the hunt will start. Participants are asked to bring their own baskets.
To make the experience more enjoyable children are split into two age groups, up to 6-years-old and 7-years-old through 12-years-old.
