Ashland County Fair is coming to town
Ashland County Fair opens Sunday September 18th until September 24th
Fresh cut fries, tractor pulls and Josh Turner can all be found at the Ashland County Fair from Sept. 18-24.
Located at 2042 Claremont Ave, the fair brings a source of scrumptious fair food, exciting events to attend and farm animals to pet for one week every year.
According to Ashland County Fair Secretary Cathy Rice, there is much for the community and Ashland University college students to look forward to in the third week of September.
“We have a lot of grandstand events. Tractor pulls, motocross, harness racing and the demo derbys are our main events. The monster truck derby is new this year, ” Rice said.
Bands and a comedian have been booked throughout the week in the pavilion for those looking for a different form of entertainment.
Perhaps the biggest attraction to the Ashland County Fair is the unlimited supply of fried food, but the famous headliner coming to town may have the philly cheese steaks and corn dogs beat this year.
‘Why Don’t We Just Dance’ on over to the grandstands on Tuesday, Sept. 20 to watch Josh Turner perform at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased now for $40 either online or at the fair office.
Senior Brittany Wressell cannot wait to attend the Ashland County Fair with her friends and family.
“I am excited for the Josh Turner concert this year. I am also ready to get my hands on some fair lemonade and french fries,” Wressell said.
According to Ashlandcountyfair.com, other events AU college students may be interested in participating in are a euchre contest, bungee jumping, human tractor pull, axe throwing, draft pony pull and more.
“I hope to see [Ashland University students] out here, it is going to be a good time,” Rice said.
