‘No Strings Attached’ on Quad

Students looking to catch a break from all the studying and cramming for finals can find relief April 28 on the Quad at 9:30 p.m. when Campus Activities Board will be showing the 2011 film “No Strings Attached.”

CAB Committee C co-chair Victoria Vanata explained how the film was selected.

“Our committee compiled a list of recent movies and we narrowed them down and then voted; ‘No Strings Attached’ got the most votes from our committee,” Vanata said.

CAB encourages students to bring a blanket and friends to the event, where snacks will be provided.

“No Strings Attached” is a 2011 romantic comedy starring Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher.

The duo plays two old friends who make a pact to become “friends with benefits” after one thing leads to another and they end up sleeping together.

Rookie screenwriter Elizabeth Meriwether wrote the film, and the director behind such films as “Ghostbusters” and “Stripes,” Ivan Reitman, directed the film.

The film received mixed reviews from critics but had a positive reception among audiences, grossing over $142 million.

The film runs an hour and 50 minutes and guarantees lots of laughs.

Last year, after being rained out multiple times, CAB showed the Academy Award-winning film “The Blind Side” starring Sandra Bullock and had a good turnout.
