Just a few weekends ago, the Ashland University swimming and diving team competed in the Miami University Invitational in Oxford, Ohio. Day one of the three-day invite took place on Thursday, Nov. 30, with the event lasting until Saturday, Dec. 2, with the men’s team leading the Eagles to continued success.
Freshman Colin Pham and Evan Kemp as well as Sophomore Ayden Mason and Robin Falk, competed in the men’s 200-yard freestyle finishing in 13th place. The men finished fifth overall with the women just behind them in sixth overall.
Day two remained steady with both teams remaining in their fifth and sixth spots, leaving room for improvement in the final day of the Miami Invite.
On the final day, the men’s freestyle team featured sophomores Nick Girz and Andrew Oates, along with freshman Colin Pham and junior Robin Falk, who helped the Eagles remain in their standings.
After three days of action, the men finished fifth out of eight teams while the women were sixth out of nine teams.
After the holiday season, both teams will keep their competition going at Saginaw Valley State on Jan. 13.
