Eagle volleyball falls out of GMAC Tournament in loss to Ohio Dominican

The Ashland University volleyball team competed this past weekend against (ODU) Ohio Dominican & Malone, home & away in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC) play. On Saturday, Nov 11, the Eagles traveled to Malone, defeating them in a 3-2 series. The Eagles record would be pushed to 22-9 on the season and 15-3 in GMAC play.

Set 2 25-20 Ashland  

Set 3 25-18 Ashland 

Set 4 25-22 Malone’ 

Set 5 15-13 Ashland  

VS ODU, The Eagles would begin the GMAC tournament as the #2 seed and would host #7 ODU. Coming into the game The Eagles would pose a favorite over ODU winning the last 2 matchups (3-2 & 3-1). The game was controlled by ODU winning each set. The Eagles would end their season with a record of 22-10 and 15-4 in GMAC play with a .789 winning percentage. Coach Katie Kuhn had this to say regarding the team season

“Proud of this group of young women and what they were able to accomplish this season. We faced adversity and never stopped pushing for growth and improvement. We earned a G-MAC South Divisional Championship that we are proud of and will look to build upon in the off-season and next Fall”
