Poetry Write-In: Scarlet Sun

The scarlet sun shines it’s hellish beams through the clouds
It’s devilish glow pierces the sky’s blanket shrouds
The people of the earth stare in awe
At the shining light, with seemingly no flaw

Yet as the sun sets there comes a rise in concern
As the sun touches down, earth begins to burn
Skin to ash, in just a flash
Their hopes are dashed
The devout and religious think that its the rapture
But it’s just the hell that God couldn’t capture
