The Ashland University women’s basketball team remained undefeated on Saturday as they defeated Hillsdale, 102-82 to improve to 24-0 on the season.

With the win, the Eagles have now tied the best start in program history and have clinched the GLIAC South regular season title.

It was another fast start for AU as they scored the first six points of the game.

The Chargers kept things close as they came back to tie the game at 21 with just under two minutes to go in the first quarter.

But after back to back threes by Maddie Dackin and Sarah Loomis the Eagles worked their way to a 29-21 lead at the end of one. The Eagles had another big second quarter as they swelled their lead to 58-38 at the half.

Laina Snyder had 16 points in the first half as she continued her first half dominance. She finished with the game with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Julie Worley also had a double double as she recorded 12 points and 12 boards in 16 minutes off the bench.

The Eagles had six girls in double figures as they eclipsed the 100-point mark for the eighth time this season.

Allie Dewire led the Chargers with 20 points in 30 minutes off action.

AU will return home on Feb. 9 to take on the Lake Erie Storm.
