Ramsey to receive Dr. Glenn L. Clayton Award

Ashland University head women’s basketball coach Sue Ramsey will receive the 2010 Dr. Glenn L. Clayton Award. The award will be presented Saturday, Oct. 2, at the Alumni Awards Brunch. The event will be held at 9 a.m. at the John C. Myers Convocation Center.

The recipient of the Clayton Award must demonstrate the qualities of a committed and dedicated leader, such as Dr. Clayton, and should exhibit the mission of the university through their actions both inside and outside the campus environment. The recipient must go above and beyond representing the university in a positive manner in all aspects.

“Dr. Clayton was the epitome of leadership and dedication to Ashland University,” Ramsey said. “I am truly honored and humbled to be receiving this award that bears his name.”

Ramsey is in her 16th season as the head coach of the women’s basketball program. She has directed the Eagles to a pair of NCAA Division II postseason appearances. Ramsey has the most wins of any coach in the program’s history. Her record at Ashland is 235-186. In 22 years as a college head coach, she is 330-314.

Ramsey is also AU’s senior women’s administrator.
