This coming Saturday (Oct. 23, at 1 p.m.), the Eagles go for a fourth consecutive win when they host Saginaw Valley State here in Ashland.

Ashland University freshman soccer forward Louis Clark has been named the GLIAC men’s soccer Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 17.

Clark scored two goals and assisted on another in Ashland’s 3-0 win at Saginaw Valley State Sunday afternoon. All five of his points came in the first half. It was the second time this season Clark has scored twice in one game, also accomplishing the feat in a 6-0 win over Mount Vernon Nazarene Sept. 28.

He now leads the GLIAC in goals (11) and is tied for the league-high in points per game (1.85). His 11 goals are tied for the fifth-most in a single season in AU history.

The Eagles were 1-0-1 on their weekend road trip to Michigan, where they also tied Northwood, 1-1, Friday.

It was the final road trip for Ashland, which returns home Friday for a battle between the top two teams in the GLIAC as Ohio Dominican comes to Ferguson Field for a 4:30 p.m. kickoff.
