The Ashland University women’s golf team placed third over the weekend at the Northern Kentucky Spring Invitational.

Senior Annie Miles led AU finishing as the medalist.

AU shot 629 (+53) in a third place tie with California (PA). DePauw (624/+48) as well as Indianapolis (624/+48) finished in a first place tie.

Grand Valley State (632/+56) finished in fifth place at Perry Park Golf Course in Perry Park, Ky.

The field consisted of 23 teams.

Miles shot 150 (+6) edging out Amy Thompson of Indianapolis who shot 151 (+7).

Dianne Luke was third (153/+9). Holly James finished in a tie for 12th for Ashland with a score of 157 (+13).

As a result of her stellar performance, Annie Miles was named the GLIAC women’s golfer of the week.

The announcement was made March 29.

This came as no surprise to Miles since she has already won the award two times this year.

The women’s golf team is next in action at the California (PA) Vulcan Invitational April 3-4.
