A year after claiming the south division title in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Ashland University volleyball was picked to repeat as division champions for the upcoming 2014 season.

Ashland won the division in 2013 after setting a school single-season record with 15 conference wins. The Eagles had an overall record of 26-8.

Ashland received six of the eight first place votes from coaches in the south division.

The Eagles earned votes in the NCAA Division II top 25 poll, but did not rank in the top 25.

AU will open the season at Concordia-St. Paul Tournament in Minnesota on Sept. 5.

The host, Concordia-St. Paul, won the Division II championship in 2013 and is the top-ranked country in the country entering this season.
