Academic prioritization process nearing completion: Town hall meeting set for Feb. 10

On Wednesday, William Crothers, Ashland University’s interim president, met with the deans of the four academic colleges to discuss the preliminary findings of the academic prioritization process.  From there, the deans will take the results to the department chairs and receiving their feedback, before going back to the deans. From there, the recommendations will be finalized and made public.

“It is important for the process for chairs to weigh in on the process,” Crothers said.

Until the report is finalized and published, the recommendations remain open to changing, including any information that was leaked from the committees. Crothers said that not only were rumors damaging to the process, but also they were inaccurate.

The report will be released sometime before a scheduled town hall meeting on February 10, where concerned parties can discuss the academic recommendations in full.

On the non-academic side, the self-studies have been completed, and the prioritization process will begin on January 31, so that necessary Board of Trustee members can be present. This process is expected to take two to three weeks before it is completed.
