The Ashland University men and women’s swim and dive team competed at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) / Mountain East Conference Championship on Feb. 10-13.
The women placed third with 1,178 points and the men placed second with 1,447.5 points.
Senior Joey Lenczyk and junior Riley Hunt found themselves as the men’s and women’s divers of the meet after first place finishes in the one and three-meter dive. While junior Rachel Stancheck found herself in the G-MAC Women’s Elite 26 Award.
The men found the following placings in their respective diving events:
- Lenczyk placed first in the one and three-meter dive.
- Freshman Altin Rowland placed second in the one and three-meter dive.
- Sophomore Grany Wallery placed third in the one and three-meter dive.

The women found the following placings in their respecting diving events:
- Hunt placed first in the one and three-meter dive.
- Senior Maddi Whitticar placed second in the one and three-meter dive.
- Freshman Macey Wade placed third in the one and three-meter dive.
- Sophomore Ella Howard placed fourth in the one and three-meter dive.
In swimming events, the men found the following podium placings:
- Junior Colin Pham placed third in the 200-yard backstroke and fifth in the 100-yard backstroke.
- Senior Nicklaus Girz placed sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke and fifth in the 200-yard freestyle.
- Graduate student Robin Falk placed fourth in the 200-yard freestyle, eighth in the 200-yard individual medley, fifth in the 100-yard freestyle and seventh in the 500-yard freestyle.
- Senior Nick Olquin placed sixth in the 200-yard butterfly.
- Senior Cole Huebner placed seventh in the 200-yard butterfly.
- Senior Jason Basile placed sixth in the 500-yard freestyle, fifth in the 1000-yard freestyle and fourth in the 1650-yard freestyle.
- Senior Granthem Brown placed seventh in the 1650-yard freestyle.
- Sophomore William Collins placed seventh in the 200-yard backstroke.
- Freshman Lincoln Shirley placed eighth in the 1650-yard freestyle and eighth in the 1000-yard freestyle.
- Freshman Cooper Young placed seventh in the 200-yard breaststroke.
In swimming events, the women found the following placings to sit on the podium:
- Senior Collen Cox placed seventh in the 50-yard freestyle and fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke.
- Sophomore Yasmim Tomita placed fourth in the 100-yard backstroke, seventh in the 200-yard individual medley and third in the 200-yard backstroke.
- Junior Juliana Pignato placed fifth in the 200-yard butterfly.
- Sophomore Brooke Patel placed sixth in the 400-yard individual medley and sixth in the 200-yard breaststroke.
- Senior Mary Kate Prall placed seventh in the 400-yard individual medley and seventh in the 200-yard backstroke.
- Junior Payton O’Toole placed fourth in the 100-yard freestyle.

The following men’s relays found podium placings:
- Pham, Girz, Falk and senior Andrew Oates placed second in the 200-medley relay.
- Huebner, Oates, senior Jack Elliot and Girz placed second in the 200-freestyle relay.
- Pham, Elliot, Huebner and Oates placed second in the 400-medley relay.
- Falk, Collins, senior Ryan Mohler and Olquin placed third in the 800-freestyle relay.
- Huebner, Pham, Falk and Girz placed second in the 400-freestyle relay.
The following women’s relays found podium placings:
- Tomita, Cox, Yemec and Payton O’Toole placed second in the 200-medley relay.
- Cox, Blair Pichola, Pignato and O’Toole placed second in the 200-freestyle relay.
- Tomita, Cox, Yemec and O’Toole placed third in the 400-medley relay.
- O’Toole, freshman KitKat Anderson, Tomita and Pignato placed fourth in the 800-freestyle relay.
- Cox, Katelyn Claugus, Yemec and Pignato placed fourth in the 400-freestyle relay.
