Both Ashland University men and women’s tennis teams took to the courts at the Oxford Athletic Club in Pittsburgh, PA, on February 7, against the Duquesne Dukes.
Both teams lost their matches this time around, putting the men’s overall season so far at 2-3 and the women’s at 0-5.
In women’s singles, the Eagles were defeated 0-5, with the highest scoring player overall being senior Constanza Arancibia, having scored 3-6 in both sets. In women’s doubles, the Eagles lost 0-2. Overall, the women’s team lost 0-7 against Duquesne.
For the men’s singles, the Eagles were unsuccessful in their attempt at victory with a 2-4 loss. Tomas Paskauskas and Jonathan Frost walked away with victories for the Eagles. In the men’s doubles, the Dukesdefeated the Eagles 0-3. Overall, the Eagles took a loss against the Dukes, 2-5.
Both teams look to win their next matches against Fairmont State on Feb. 13 at home.
