The Ashland University volleyball team has secured the No. 6 seed in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) tournament in their sweep over the Thomas More Saints on Nov. 14.
On Nov. 14, the Eagles faced the Saints in their final regular season match. They finish the regular season 13-13 overall and 8-8 in the G-MAC. Going into the match, the Eagles knew it was win or go home.
Leading the offense in dominant fashion was freshman Jenna Shedden, who had 18 kills, with ten of them coming in the first set. She also had three blocks.
Junior Abbey Queen led the offense with 15 digs.
Junior Marin Dixon had a 1.00 hitting percentage, going seven for seven on kills. She also had 27 assists.
The Eagles also had 11 aces during the match. Sophomores Kaylee Davis and Samantha Young both had four, while Queen herself had three.
The Eagles held the Saints to a .080 hitting percentage during the match.
Up next, the Eagles will play the Ohio Dominican Panthers on Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. in Columbus, Oh. for the quarterfinals of the G-MAC tournament.
