The Ashland University STUNT Team continued its impressive run this weekend, securing three victories in Erie, Pennsylvania against the following teams: Central Michigan University, Mercyhurst University, and Northern Kentucky University.
With the wins, the Eagles have extended their winning streak to four games, maintaining momentum as they move deeper into the season.
On Saturday, March 1, Ashland began the weekend with a hard-fought 18-8 victory over Central Michigan. Senior Flyer/Tumbler Alyssa McLaughlin led the way with a program-record 68 points. McLaughlin’s incredible effort helped the Eagles dominate the Chippewas, and her performance earned her the title of Player of the Game. Additionally, Senior Flyer/Base/Tumbler Chloe Colvin was named Tumbler of the Game, and Senior Base/Tumbler Meghan Ferrante was recognized as the Stunter of the Game for their stellar performance throughout the match.
On Sunday, Ashland took on Mercyhurst University, defeating the Lakers 17-11. McLaughlin once again provided a standout performance, contributing 51 points to the Eagles’ success. As in the previous game, Colvin was named Tumbler of the Game, while Senior Base/Tumbler Faith Fletcher earned the Stunter of the Game.
Later that day, the Eagles capped off the weekend with a dominant 20-0 win over Northern Kentucky University. Once again, McLaughlin had 33 points and was the highest-rated player. Colvin was once again named Tumbler of the Game, while Ferrante was honored as the Stunter of the Game.
Looking ahead, Ashland will return home next Sunday, March 9, for their Senior Night, where they will face off against Purdue University at 11:15 a.m. and Walsh University at 12:30 p.m. Both matches will be pivotal as the Eagles continue their pursuit of a successful season finish.
