The Ashland University STUNT Team made a strong showing on the road this past weekend, claiming three out of four victories in Alma, Michigan.
The Eagles went 3-1 during their weekend trip, with notable individual performances and a milestone achievement for Head Coach Denise Farnsworth.
On Saturday, February 22, the Eagles took on Central Michigan University and Mercyhurst University. The Eagles kicked off the day with a 19-9 victory over the Chippewas, powered by a standout 38-point performance from senior Flyer/Tumbler Alyssa McLaughlin. The second match of the day saw Ashland dominate Mercyhurst 20-8, with McLaughlin once again leading the charge, this time with 41 points.
Sunday’s action started with a setback, as the Eagles fell 24-3 to Alma College. Despite the loss, the Eagles bounced back in the final game of the weekend, securing a commanding 23-0 win over the University of Michigan Wolverines. In that victory, junior Flyer/Tumbler Emily Keeling and freshman Base/Tumbler Lilly Johnson both delivered impressive performances, each scoring 38 points.
A significant milestone was reached over the weekend as Coach Denise Farnsworth earned her 50th career win as head coach of the Ashland STUNT Team. Her leadership continues to drive the team’s success, and the Eagles are poised to continue their strong performance this season.
Looking ahead, the Eagles will be on the road again next weekend. On Saturday, March 1 they will face off against Central Michigan University at Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA. The road trip will conclude on Sunday, March 2 with matches against Northern Kentucy University and Mercyhurst University.
