As we enter the new year, the idea of New Year’s resolutions arises. Many organizations
advocate for and provide tools for individuals to achieve their new goals.
An organization that advocates heavily for these goals is Ashland University’s own Recreation Center & Wellness Team.
For the past three years, the AU RecWell has been offering a solution to the common struggle
with New Year’s resolutions, their ‘New Year, Best Me’ incentive program.
Jill MacKenzie, the assistant director of Business Operations for the Ashland University
Recreation Center, stated, “Whether it is eating better [or] working out, whatever it may be…this
program is for undergraduate students, staff, alumni, and community members who are members with us as well.”
The six-week program is designed to allow members to explore new things and be rewarded for completing new challenges.
MacKenzie continued, “You can visit 10 times, and you’ll automatically earn a prize. If you visit
20 times, you automatically earn a prize. If you visit 30 times, you’re entered into an ultimate prize raffle.”
“[The program] is for six weeks long, so it’s Jan. 13 through Feb. 23.”If you are interested in joining, the Wellness Team has a signup form available on Engage
Ashland for the entire six-week program.
