Freshman Jillian Donnelly starts a new bible study at Ashland University called “Kingdom Seekers.”

Donnelly is involved in many faith-based and athletic organizations on campus. She can be seen at SAAC, the AU women’s golf team, FCA, The Well, the Student Dietetics organization and now Kingdom Seekers.

Most things she does are spiritually driven, which include several worship nights a week.

“These allow me to grow my understanding for the love of God’s creation so that I can hopefully one day help to save lives in the workforce,” said Donnelly. “All of these extracurricular activities have allowed me to understand God more through communication, differing opinions and allowing myself to dive deeper into the word, making my soul on fire for the Lord.”

Kingdom Seekers started as a group of five members with various Bible knowledge, denomination and backgrounds.

Her goal is to make God more known while also learning more about him every day.

Jillian wanted to try to make a comfortable environment to truly grow in understanding and truth, basing all they do on the word of God.

This study covers what it means to be a “kingdom seeker” by exploring and deeply understanding the book of John including the seven I AM statements, miracles and signs to explain God and who He is.

Donnelly hopes that more people get a desire in their hearts to truly know God and get to feel his love through the scriptures.

Whether you are a believer, non-believer, athlete or not and any denomination, everyone is welcome to grow their knowledge. This bible study meets every Sunday night at 6 p.m. in the Common Grounds room located on the second floor of the Hawkins-Conard Student Center.
