The Ashland University STUNT team competed on the road in Ann Arbor, Mich., in two non-conference contests this past weekend.

The Eagles, who were riding high off of a four-game win streak, only built upon that confidence after taking down Concordia (Mich.) and the University of Michigan.

To start, the Eagles took on the Concordia Cardinals and started off the first half with a clean 6-0 lead. With heavy momentum heading into halftime, the Eagles only built upon their established lead and picked up four impressive points in the third quarter.

For the Cardinals, they were able to find a singular point in the third quarter making the lead 12-1.

In the fourth, the Eagles solidified themselves as one of the best Division II programs in the country as they mounted 10 points to close out a 22-2 win.

That win put them into double digits on the season with 10 wins.

After taking down the Cardinals, the Eagles geared up to face the Wolverines, who are a Division I club program. Heading into their contest against the Eagles they sat 1-2 on the year.

Unfortunately, the team’s struggles would continue and the Eagles would shut out the Wolverines, 23-0. The Eagles scored four points in each of the first three quarters and added on a stellar 11 points in the fourth.

That win marks the Eagles’ second shutout this season, both of them coming in the last week.

With their record improving to 11-4 on the season, the Eagles gear up for the Great Midwest Athletic Conference championships where they will take on the Ursuline Arrows in the opening round.

The contest against the Arrows is set for 7:30 pm on Friday, March 31, in Kate’s Gymnasium.
