AU women’s basketball ranked No. 1 in the country

The Eagles remain undefeated in the 2022-2023 season.

The Ashland University women’s basketball team has moved to No. 1 in the country after the previous No. 1 ranked Grand Valley State fell to Lewis University just days ago.

With the Eagles downing opponents day in and day out, they have kept an undefeated record at 14-0 and 6-0 in conference play.

On Jan. 3, 2023, the most recent Women’s Basketball Coaches Assosiation (WBCA) poll was released with Ashland University topping the charts as the best team in the country and one of two to be undefeated in Division II women’s basketball.

  3. Drury (11-1)
  4. Grand Valley State (12-1)
  5. Minnesota State Mankato (11-1)
  6. Western Washington (9-1)
  7. Central Missouri (10-0)

  9. Eckerd (11-2)
  10. Colorado Mines (11-1)

The Eagles now look to remain undefeated as they take on the 3-8 overall Cedarville Yellowjackets at home in Kates Gymnasium. The contest is set for Jan. 5, with tipoff at 5:30 P.M.
