Ashland University has had continued success throughout the fall season of athletics as the Eagle football team and soccer teams have impressed the conference with their strong finishes.

The Presidents Cup is an award given to the University that records the highest amount of points in sports that are sponsored by the conference. These points are also given out to sports that compete in championship meets instead of a regular season schedule. Those sports would include track and field, cross country and STUNT.

The Eagles currently sit with 50 points which is good enough for first in the conference with the Eagle volleyball team leading the way with 13 points from their impressive 16-1 conference record. Behind volleyball sits women’s soccer with 11 points, men’s soccer with 10 points and football with nine points. All three brought home conference championships, while volleyball fell short in the quarterfinal round. Eagle cross country brought home seven total points from their efforts.

The Eagles now look to the spring semester where a multitude of sports will compete to bring home conference points in a collective effort to bring the President’s Cup trophy to AU.
