CAB brings comedian LeClerc Andre to Ashland University

The stage was set and ready for the show to begin.

Ashland University’s Campus Activities Board brought comedian LeClerc Andre into Redwood Hall Friday Oct. 7 to make students laugh with some standup comedy.

Andre, who takes inspiration from Eddie Murphy, Patrice O’Neal and Dave Chapelle, hit a variety of topics with his jokes such as politics, married life, race, COVID-19 and much more.

The comic was able to keep the crowd going for the majority of the night, as his routine involved audience participation, awkward or dry deliveries and some off-kilter jokes that caught people by surprise.

Andre frequently picked out members of the audience to joke with or roast and often poked fun of himself stating, “LeClerc Andre, yeah, that’s my real name!”

Overall, Andre brought a more mature comedic routine to AU, e: Engaging the audience frequently, delivering jokes that came out of left field and garnering a great amount of laughs from the student body.
