The Ashland University women’s soccer team has continued its success over recent weeks.

After a week that saw the Eagles down Malone and Lake Erie by a 6-0 goal differential, they moved up three spots in the United Soccer Coaches Division II coaches poll.

The Eagles have played well lately defeating Malone 2-0 last Thursday, and taking down Lake Erie 4-0, both on the road.

Sophomore forward McKinley Mendenhall has been on top of her game lately posting three goals over the last two contests. On the season she has recorded six goals and eight assists. Her total of eight assists is enough to slot her at fifth in Division II in assists on the season.

Other stars on offense see freshman Dani Hicks who has scored five goals and dished off three assists in her first collegiate year. Senior Bailey Clark has continued her consistent play as well with five goals, three of which being game-winners.

5th-year Georgia Nagucki has also stepped up in a massive role this season scoring four goals and assisting on three. Over the last two contests she recorded a goal and two assists.

On the defensive side goalkeeper, Bri Rogers has recorded 33 saves and seven clean sheets in 13 games played this season. She currently has five clean sheets straight.

The Eagles are currently 10-3 overall on the season and 8-1 in conference play.

Now as the No. 21 team in the country, the Eagles will look to defend their five-game win streak against the Malone Pioneers on Thursday, Oct. 13, at home.
