The Ashland University volleyball team has been on fire as of late since losing on Sept. 3.

They look to take on the Findlay Oilers in what hopes to be a highly competitive matchup this Friday.

Currently, the team sits at a record of 14-5 overall, 9-0 in conference play, and is on an 11-game win streak. Through nine conference matchups, the Eagles have given up just two sets while winning 27 of them.

With their dominating play, they sit in first place in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference South Division.

The Eagles on offense have been led by 5th-year Erin Krupar with 198 kills and sophomore Makenna Belcher with 192 kills. On defense, junior libero Katie Thompson has recorded 332 digs this season en route to three GMAC Player of the Week honors.

In their last contest against the Northwood Timberwolves, the Eagles swept them 3-0 with Belcher and Krupar leading the way in the kill category. Belcher recorded eight while Krupar was one ahead with nine.

On the other side of things, Findlay has been red hot as they sit on a 10-game win streak after starting the season losing five straight.

The Oilers are 12-7 overall and 9-0 in conference play as they sit at first in the GMAC North Division.

These two teams look to play one another Friday, Oct. 7, with the matchup set to start at 7 p.m.
