Ashland University continues to spew out excellence in its athletic department. After the AU football team was ranked at No. 6 in the country earlier this week, the women’s soccer team has followed suit.

The women’s team was ranked at No. 24 early in September before falling out of the top 25 in recent weeks.

Once more they have now returned to that No. 24 spot in the NCAA Division II United Soccer Coaches poll.

Currently, the Eagles sit at a record of 8-3 on the season and 6-1 in conference play. Their only losses on the season have come against Embry-Riddle, Rollins, and Cedarville.

The Eagles are riding high off a three-game win streak while posting six goals and giving up zero in those three.

With goalkeeper Bri Rogers, forward Bailey Clark, and forward McKinley Mendenhall winning GMAC POTW honors in recent weeks, it was only time until they returned back to the top 25 chart.

Rogers has been hot lately recording three straight clean sheets for a total of five on the season. Through 11 games she has recorded 31 saves.

The dynamic duo of Clark and Mendenhall have dominated this season. The two have combined for 24 total points, eight goals, and eight assists while putting up 34 shots.

They return back to conference competition on Thursday, Oct. 6 against the Malone Pioneers with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
