At the age of 96, the Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth II passed away. It was reported by a variety of news sources earlier this morning that the Queen was suffering from medical complications. It was reported that she died peacefully.

The majority of the Queen’s royalty traveled to the Balmoral Castle in Scotland after the doctors attending to the Queen said that it was necessary to do so. Prince William was reported seen driving the Queen’s sons Andrew and Edward, while Prince Henry was reportedly traveling from London, UK, to Scotland to see the Queen. Others involved in the Royal family flew into Scotland earlier this morning to arrive and see the Queen before her passing.

The Royal Family said on Twitter for Charles that it is, “a moment of great sadness for me and all members of my family.”

Multiple countries and their respective political leaders issued condolences to the Royal family with the White House saying, “Our hearts and our thoughts go to the family members of the Queen, and goes to the people of United Kingdom.”

“I don’t want to get ahead of what the President is going to say,” Jean-Pierre added as the White House briefing came to a close earlier today

Britain’s Prime Minister Liz Truss said, “Queen Elizabeth II was the rock on which modern Britain was built. She was the very spirit of Great Britain, and that spirit will endure. She was loved and admired by the people in the United Kingdom, and all round the world.”

Truss was appointed Prime Minister under the Queen before her passing.

Queen Elizabeth II was the longest-reigning British monarch whose rule spanned seven decades. She took the throne in 1952, after the death of her father, King George VI.
