Update on trial for Mansfield man who murdered a woman in Ashland

The Ashland Police Department received a call on Jan. 26 at 2:15 a.m. concerning a possible murder in the area. 

The victim was 41-year-old Tina Goad of Mansfield. 

The suspect in custody is 30-year-old Ryan Stroup of Ashland. 

According the the police report, Stroup is being charged with two counts of aggravated murder, three counts of kidnapping, two counts of aggravated robbery, tampering with evidence, abuse of corpse and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle. 

Stroup had his arraignment on Feb. 9, According to Fox8 News, he pleaded not guilty to all charges. If found guilty, Stroup’s minimum sentence will be 66 and a half years, and the possibility of the death penalty.

 Stroup’s hearing is scheduled for Feb. 17

There is no more information about the case available to the public at this time. 

Goad’s obituary described her as a “loving woman who enjoyed dancing, camping and being outdoors.” She is remembered by many friends and family.

According to the Wappner Funeral Directors and Crematory, Goad’s funeral was held on Thursday, Feb. 4. She rests in peace at Mansfield cemetery.
