The Ashland University men’s and women’s soccer teams are gearing up for the final few games of the 2022 fall season.

With the men’s team taking on the Ohio Dominican Panthers and the women’s team taking on the Ursuline Arrows, Thursday’s contests are sure to be competitive.

The men’s team currently sits at a record of 9-4-1 and 8-3 in conference play.

They are coming off of two contests where they dominated their opponents by a goal margin differential of 10-4.

On Oct. 13, they downed the Pioneers 6-3 and the Timberwolves 4-1 to solidify themselves as a top contender in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.

Currently, they sit in first place in the conference with 24 points, tied with the Tiffin Dragons.

On the other hand, Ohio Dominican sits at 3-6-2 towards the bottom of the GMAC table.

They look to take on the Panthers on the road Thursday, Oct. 20, with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m.

The women’s team on the other hand sits at 11-3-1 overall and 9-1-1 in conference play. The team also sits 0n a seven-game streak without a loss.

While the team is on fire throughout the month of October, their previous contest against the Northwood Timberwolves ended in disappointment.

Defender Julianna Williams smashed a 35-yard shot to the top right corner to take a 1-0 lead, but later in the 86th minute, the Eagles gave up a penalty kick leading to a tie game.

The tie marks the first time they’ve done so since Oct. 21 of 2021.

With the tie, the Eagles fall to second place in the GMAC standings with 28 points with the Cedarville Yellowjackets two points ahead at 30.

The Arrows on the other hand sit in the middle of the GMAC table with 14 points and a 4-5-2 record.

They look to take on the Arrows at home Thursday, Oct. 20, with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m.
