Kelly Meyer is a professional instructor in the Journalism and Digital Media Department. She returned to her alma mater after a career as a television news producer in Cleveland, Ohio; Salt Lake City, Utah; and Toledo, Ohio.

During her time in the newsroom, Meyer covered some of the nation’s most impactful stories, including the Elizabeth Smart kidnapping case and trial, the Chardon High School shooting, the Cleveland kidnapping survivors, and the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 2016 NBA championship.

Passionate about connecting with students, Meyer is dedicated to motivating young journalists to make a difference. She values building strong relationships in the classroom and guiding students to become the next generation of storytellers.

Outside of teaching, Meyer enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She loves to cook as a self-proclaimed foodie and travel to explore new places while cherishing everyday moments with her family.
