Men’s basketball gets seventh straight win

The Ashland University men’s basketball team defeated Tiffin 85-74 on Monday night in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference road contest.
The win is AU’s seventh straight, and keeps the Eagles (14-6, 9-5 GLIAC) one game behind Findlay for first place in the GLIAC South Division.
Senior guard Boo Osborne became the 25th player in program history to score 1,000 career points after scoring 26 points on Monday. He could not miss versus the Dragons, making 10-of-11 from the field and 6-of-6 from behind the arc.
Senior guard Adrian Cook contributed 18 points and handed out seven assists, while sophomore point guard Ben Haraway added 12 points.
Ashland raced out to an 8-2 lead to start the game, with Osborne scoring AU’s first eight points.
Tiffin (9-12, 5-9 GLIAC) then tied the game multiple times throughout the remainder of the half, but the Eagles went into intermission with a 40-39 lead.
Ashland constructed a 59-46 lead with 11:40 left in the game after holding the Dragons to two points in a span that lasted more than four minutes.
Tiffin did not get any closer than nine points the rest of the game.
Freshman center Drew Noble (9 points), junior center Teddy Metzen (8) and sophomore guard Nick Bapst (6) also contributed for AU.
