Lounge, Game and Esports, LAG, has opened its new facility located on 85 Amberwood Parkway, Suite 85 D in Ashland. The facility has been designed for just about anyone from being a casual gamer or being a very competitive one.
Owner Dakota Freelon is a lifetime Ashland resident. His passion for gaming started back at the age of 12 playing the shooter game, Socom.
Freelon was a competitive gamer for almost five plus years competing in multiple Call of Duty titles and popular battle royale game PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s BattleGrounds).
Not only is he interested in providing another outlet for people to play games, he is also looking to run tournaments in Ashland, as well planning to eventually partner with AU to work side by side with the Esports team.
Freelon said potential classes or courses is to potentially teach people on how to get into Esports.
“I really have good connections with people around the U.S. to hopefully fly them in and have them teach and also have some in house teachers with experience and a good resume,” Freelon said.

“We would like to partner with AU to hopefully bring collegiate play and host invite tournaments locally by hopefully around February weekly for the most popular games ranging from fighting games to some of the more popular first person shooters,” Freelon said.
The facility has different specs ranging from PC, Xbox and PS4. They have high end 24-inch monitors for each station, along with gaming headsets, gaming keyboards and gaming mice.
The facility also has dedicated rooms where players can play in their Virtual Reality room with the Oculus Rift S VR headset.
Gamers have the option to order snacks and drinks while they are gaming away.
Community members can stay informed with the IOS app or computer application, Discord, to see posts and interact with others in the community. Facebook is their most updated form of social media.
Hours to go and play at the facility are 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. The price per person for one hour is $7.
“Thank you so much for those who have come to support LAG thus far and those thinking about doing so in the future,” Freelon said. “[I] can’t wait to build an awesome gaming community here in Ashland and other neighboring towns.”
