The Ashland University Eagles (27-0, 19-0 GLIAC) moved one step closer to a perfect season on Saturday as they defeated the Findlay Oilers, 102-68.

It was a slower start for the Eagles as they went back and forth with the Oilers in the first quarter. UF was able to keep the contest close in the first as they allowed just 19 points.

This script quickly changed as AU started the second quarter on a 15-0 run to blow the game open, 33-15. The Eagles outscored the Oilers 25-8 in the second as their lead swelled to 44-23 at the half.

The second half saw more dominance from the Eagles as they continued to score the ball efficiently, to the tune of 35 points in the third quarter. Andi Daugherty scored 11 points in 54 seconds near the end of the third quarter as the Eagles pushed their lead to 79-48.

The Eagles closed out the victory in the fourth as they came away with another victory.

Daugherty finished with 21 points for her second straight 20-point game.

Laina Snyder, the Eagles leading scorer on the year did not play in the game due to injury. Julie Worley took her place in the starting lineup for the first start of her career.

Worley finished with 16 points and eight rebounds.

AU was 11-16 (68.8%) from behind the three point arc.

The Eagles held the Oilers to a measly 34.4% from the field on their senior night.

Ashland will take on Tiffin on Thursday in their final regular season game of the season.

The women’s side of the GLIAC Tournament has also been set and the Eagles will take on Walsh at home on Feb. 28 at 5:30 p.m. as they begin their quest for their second straight GLIAC championship.
