CAB is hosting a blood drive on Wednesday Sept. 18 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Redwood. Students are able to sign up to donate, Monday September 16th in the Quad from 9am-12pm.

Sydney Good, CAB’s student intern for the blood drives is very hopeful about the turnout for the blood drives this semester.

“I expect the turnout for this blood drive to be great! We are trying some new things for advertising and I think we will have a good turn out for Wednesday,” she said. “The blood drives are usually very successful. We typically will get more donors than the set goal we are asked to have by the company, which is awesome, the more the better!”

CAB holds four blood drives annually, as it is very important to give blood, especially because it can help people after a natural disaster like hurricane Dorian.

According to the American Red Cross, approximately 36,000 units of red blood cells are needed every day in the United States.

As the CAB intern for the Blood Drives, Good has many responsibilities when hosting the events. She is responsible for corresponding with the company Vitalint to report how the Blood Drive turns out and other things associated with the event.

“I look forward to making this year our best year yet, with the goal to save as many lives as possible!” Good said.

Other members of CAB are looking forward to the event and what it can do to save lives as well.

Junior CAB intern Anna Orange said, “Giving blood means saving lives, you save three lives in fact, so just like that, by sitting down for a half an hour, you have the ability to make someone else’s life change for the better.”

Don’t forget to sign up for the event on September 18th. CAB hopes to see you there helping to save lives!
