Eight Eagles place at Findlay

The Ashland University wrestling team traveled to Findlay on Saturday (Nov. 18) to compete in the Findlay Open. The Eagles saw eight team members place.

Sophomore, Christian Price competed in the 174 pound class and has taken first place for two consecutive weeks. First at the Ohio Intercollegiate Open and now the Findlay Open. Price is 8-0 on the season so far and is looking to keep improving.’

Seven other Eagles placed with Price, junior Sebastian Vidika in the 125 pound class finished fourth and junior Lawrance Dudgeon went 3-1 landing fifth in the 133 class.

Three members on the team came in fourth place, starting with freshman Carson Speelman (141) ,freshman Dustin Marteney (149) and sophomore Bret Romanzak (165).

Two members placed eighth, freshman Bryce Davis (125) and redshirt freshman Tristen Weirich (285).

The No. 11 ranked Eagles next competition is a home dual against Pitt – Johnstown, on Dec. 2 at 3 p.m. This will be their first home dual meet out of five for the 2017-18 schedule.
