“This Love” for Maroon 5 is about to grow deeper
September 22, 2010
Maroon 5 is back and they are hotter than ever after releasing their third studio album, “Hands All Over.” The 2005 Best New Artist Grammy winners are back on the scene with a new record that has a very provocative title.
Maroon 5 has proven to be very successful. Their first album, “Songs About Jane,” went triple platinum and they’ve had numerous hit singles, such as “This Love,” “Makes me Wonder” and “Wake up Call.” It has been a good three years since we last heard from them but now they’re back and giving us a new sound.
Maroon 5’s new album gives the same pizzazz, but takes it down a little with a few acoustic numbers as well as a collaboration with Lady Antebellum. They make an unlikely-but effective-pairing. But that could all be thanks to the legendary music producer Mutt Lang, who helped them with this record.
There has been much talk that a lot of Maroon 5’s songs sound the same. There is some truth to this statement, but this album shows that they can do more than people think.
The song with Lady Antebellum, “Out of Goodbyes,” has a slower country feel and the tune, “Stutter,” takes on a 60s pop style that is very intriguing to listen to. Sure, there are still some seductive lyrics in a few songs, but Maroon 5 is showing what they can really do with music and why this is so important to them.
Their new song, “Misery,” has already blasted the airwaves. “Misery” is a nice choice for the premiere single because it gives that same rock/pop feel that we all know and love. The next song to be hitting the radio will be “Give a Little More.” This song is different from their usual sound, but fans can expect it to climb the Billboard charts pretty soon.
Maroon 5 is one of those bands that has a powerful style that shines with sincerity because they love music and everything they write about is from their personal experiences.
Give this album a listen because it’s perfect if you just want to jam out or if you’re tired of listening to Lady Gaga while running on the treadmill.
