Two Ashland University wrestlers won championships Nov. 20 at the 20th Annual Harris Open, hosted by the Eagles at Conard Field House.

At 125 pounds, senior Brandon Davis won a gold medal with a 10-4 decision over Gannon’s Adam Weinell. Davis went 4-0 in the tourney.

Junior Jacob Southwick won a championship at 285 pounds. In the title bout, Southwick was a 4-1 winner of Findlay’s Andrew Tumlin.

A pair of AU wrestlers won silver medals. Senior Kyle Kanaga lost in the championship bout at 141 pounds to Edinboro’s Mitchell Port. Port pinned Kanaga in 6:30.

At 184 pounds, sophomore Ryan Thatcher finished as the runner-up. He lost to Notre Dame College’s Jake Burge, 3-1.
