February 10, 2011
Sophomore guard David Harris was the Eagles’ heart and soul during their 2-0 week against Ohio Dominican and Tiffin. That effort earned him the GLIAC South Player of the Week.
The 5’5 transfer scored 15 points including a career-high seven assists in an overtime win over the ODU Panthers last Thursday. Harris went on to match a career-high with 22 points at Tiffin last Saturday. Harris hit 4-of-5 three-pointer shots and went 8-of-13 from the floor.
Against ODU and Tiffin, Harris averaged 18.5 points, 5.0 assists and 4.0 steals while putting in 83 minutes of work last week.
For the season, Harris is shooting 37.1 percent from three-point range and is third in the GLIAC with 1.9 steals per game. Harris leads AU with 48 assists and 37 steals.
Senior forward Kale Richardson was the last player to earn that honor for the men because of his performance during the week of Nov. 28.
