GoAshlandEagles.com in final stages

The new Ashland University Athletics page is still under construction but has many people in the department excited for its arrival. The new page will mark the third time the school has upgraded the official sports site. The very first athletics page came on the scene eight years ago, while the current page was brought about three years ago.
The difference to this page is that the school is using the services of an outside source to create and design the site. The company Presto has a lot of history when it comes to their work too, as they have worked with schools such as Butler, Harvard, Yale and many other schools in the GLIAC in addition to the GLIAC page itself. With Presto working on the page, the athletic department is excited to get it out there, hopefully within the next month according to Athletic Director Bill Goldring.
“The page is radically different than the current site; it has many more modern features and is even Facebook compatible,” said Goldring, explaining the differences of the newer version and the older version. Goldring also said that sports information and marketing will be the central focus of the site.
“A college athletics page is a really big part of keeping up with teams, as well as recruiting,” said Goldring. “It [the Athletics page] just gives you more access to information about sports, video, personal information, staff and even what the uniforms look like. It’s the quickest way to do things in athletic departments.”
Although Presto is in charge of the new project, the athletic department is still partnered up with the Information Technology and Marketing departments on the development to ensure that it is just as everyone wants. Although there is a lot of interest going into the site, Presto remains in charge of the overall design. While there may be speculation that the department went with an outside source due to internal problems, the reasoning is due to the quality work that Presto has provided working with other colleges throughout the nation.
While there are many anxious feelings for the site to come out, there is still a lot of desire to get it finished. Clearly, the department feels optimistic that the site will trump the current one on many levels and will appeal to modern society with tons of new features.
The new page will have features from every sport, including photo galleries and video galleries, which the current page lacks. While a lot of the information currently on the page will be transferred over to the new one, the new look should improve the overall quality. GoAshlandEagles.com will improve the athletics’ image, which is the goal of the department. Fans and potential players can go onto the page and consider Ashland University a serious contender with the new media and features at their disposal now.
Although it could be a few weeks before anyone truly can experience GoAshlandEagles.com, the anticipation is being felt throughout the athletics department and that can only mean that they expect it to be greater than anything before.
