Seniors exhibit work in Coburn Art Gallery

The Senior Art Exhibition opened on April 11 at the Coburn Art Gallery located in the Center for the Arts.

Art ranging from printmaking, digital art, painting, and photography will be on display.

An opening reception was held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on April 11, with senior art awards announced at 5 p.m. The exhibition is open until May 11.

The exhibit features the works of nine graduating seniors: Allen Kowal of Wooster, Ohio, Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Art Graphics Programming with a minor in computer science, Naomi Adinkrah of Mansfield, Bachelor of Science in Art Education with a concentration in printmaking, Kelly Barnes of Painesville, Ohio, Bachelor of Science in Commercial Art with a minor in marketing, Ashley Haines of Eastlake, Ohio, Bachelor of Fine Arts with concentration in printmaking and Bachelor of Science in Art Education and a minor in art history, Alicia Smith of Mansfield, Ohio, Bachelor of Science in Commercial Art with a minor in entrepreneurship, Caitlin Hiller, an exhibiting senior from Medina, Ohio, with a Bachelor of Science in Art Education and a concentration in digital art and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Art Graphics Programming, Alex Toth of Chardon, Ohio, Bachelor of Fine Arts with concentration in digital art and a minor in mathematics, Pablo Mauricio Uranga of Chihuahua, Mexico, Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art, and Jun Liao of Shenzhen, and Guang Dong, China, Bachelor of Science in Commercial Art with a concentration in animation.

Hiller had a good experience.

“I felt accomplished looking at the walls and seeing the culmination of four years’ hard work,” Hiller said. “There is a sense of pride, not only for my own achievement, but I am proud of all of the artists that have been on this journey with me. Our time together is over and our paths will split, but I’m eager to see the places our talent will take us.”
