Athetic Training Club holds third annual Toss for the Twins
September 26, 2013
Starting Friday, campus is hosting Family Weekend. When most people think of Family Weekend, they think of spending their weekend on campus with their immediate family; brothers, sisters, and parents. The term “family” will be spread a little further this weekend.
The Athletic Training Club will hold their third annual Toss for the Twins on Saturday to help support the A.T. family and head athletic trainer Jeremy Hancock and his family. Jeremy and his wife, Carrie, have two five-year-old children, Tessa and Dylan. Both children have Cerebral Palsy.
Toss for the Twins is a cornhole tournament that will last for three hours in front of the Troup Center before the football team kicks off against Northern Michigan University.
Last year, the Toss raised over $1,000 that went directly to the family to help with surgeries or everyday necessities for raising children with C.P..
If you are like me and have been lucky enough to get to know the Hancock family, you know that their family is a lot bigger than the four of them. They extend their family to athletes, students, and faculty. The support that they show to the AU community is endless.
Family Weekend is a weekend that you can spend with your family from home, but it can also be a weekend where your “home” family and your “school” family become one. So after you have spent the day with your family, come show them what the Ashland University community is really all about.
To register for the Toss, find a teammate that you would like to compete with and email Athletic Training Club President, Paige Ciminello, at [email protected]. You may also register for the event the day of. Each team costs $10. You can also purchase a t-shirt for the cause. Those are also $10.
